Chair Report: Greetings OASC: 11/17/07

Welcome to our annual OASC Meeting. It’s Great to see everyone today, and it’s great to be a part of NA service. I have the secretary files in my trunk. I also collected the PI literature and the Area’s printer/scanner from Sandee A this past month. I handed over a small box of PI literature to Kevin F (PI interm). I gave Kevin all the PI literature I received. I have OASC property I received from Sandee in my car today to hand over if necessary including printer/scanner, literature rack, and a box I have not looked through. I did engrave property of OASC on our printer/scanner today as the Area requested. I added our helpline number and our post office address as well. I attended the H&I subcommittee meeting today because that is the only subcommittee meeting I was aware of this month that occurred. World is requesting addicts to participate in a 2007 Fellowship Survey that is available online at: http://www.naws.org/surveys/index.php?sid=1. In loving service, Shelie V

H&I: Greetings Ozark Area:

I’m Don G , an addict humbly representing the H&I subcommittee. C-Star missed one meeting last week and problem was addressed. All other meetings were taken in and went well. We humbly ask Area if we can contribute to the New Years’ Eve Dance by holding a workshop before the speaker speaks? We have also received a letter from the Joplin Police Chief expressing an interest in a meeting being brought into the jail. H&I will meet next month on the same morning as Area @ 1:30pm. Miracles: Hello Ozark Area :

My name is James and I am alternate GSR for the Miracles Group. Miracles meets every Friday night at 6:30pm at the corner of 4^th & Byers in the basement of the church. The last Friday of the month is our birthday night. Please come and celebrate. We do not have an Area donation at this time, but thank you for letting us host this OASC meeting. Point of Turning: Good Afternoon Area:

Our group is meeting 3 times weekly Monday at 12 p.m., Tuesday at 7 p.m., and Thursday at 8 p.m. Book study one time monthly, with business meeting last Thursday of the month at 7 p.m. Meeting content seems to really focus on growth of spiritual principles lately. The newcomers continue to share and grow plentifully enough to keep the "older" members busy. We are waiting on detail of "Chili Cook-off" to share in. We have sent $20.00 to area to help spread the message of hope in recovery. Respectfully, Danny S.

Spiritual Principles Group continues to meet at 618 Jackson Sunday and Wednesday mornings at 9:30am. We have steady meeting attendance of 15 to 20 on Sundays and 8 to 12 on Wednesdays. We have nothing new to report this month nor do we have a donation this month. ILS, Kevin F

Survivors: Greetings Ozark Area:

My name is Stacy C., as of today I am the newly elected GSR for Survivors. The group continues to have the position of GSR alternate open and available to a group member willing to serve. Our group meets Monday through Saturday at noon at the HOLC located at 618 Jackson st. Joplin MO. Our business meetings are held the same Saturday as Area business meetings at 11a.m. Our birthday meeting is held the last Saturday of each month. We have a donation of $15.23 for Area. Our group is continuing to do well and averaging 15 to 20 per meeting. We have a $10.00 donation for area this month. In Loving Service, Andy M GSR

We Do Recover: Greetings from We Do Recover:

We are doing well & our meetings are seeing people finding recovery regularly. We Do… is hosting a Gratitude Celebration this Thursday starting @ 11am to midnight. We have an Area donation of $40.00 this month. In loving service, Doug B

• Survivors group submitted a new schedule format for review and consideration.
• Due to changing of the Web Master, the prices were discussed for the printing of Area meeting schedules two types vs. singles. Shelie V. volunteered for checking on schedule prices and will report next month, and she will have the normal supply of schedules this month for area.
• RCM (Renita) to purchase one CAR for each group at next Regional Meeting in January.
• Sub committee meeting times were discussed.
• We do Recover shared concerns about having only one Regional Treasurer being accountable after the trouble w/ the last treasurer, asked about having a Vice Treasurer. RCM said that the Region is looking at all possibilities. They currently have an adhoc committee going over their guidelines ,to protect the Region from a similar problem happening again.

• RCM stated that she is available to any groups if they have questions regarding Region or World. Just call her.
• A motion was made for OASC chair to buy PI pamphlets and to maintain current racks. Seconded. Voted and passed.
• Addict submits concern that OASC sub-committee chairs who are not present at two consecutive Area meetings be held accountable.
• Motion was made for removal of current H&I chair. Groups are to vote and bring back to Area.
• OASC service positions currently open for nominations include: Vice Chair, RCM Alt, PI Chair, Literature Review Chair & Outreach Chair.
